Reaction to "The Merchants of Cool"

Overall I couldn't believe the amount of effort corporations put into researching "cool." The clip was dated showing music and advertising that I remember from early middleschool, but nonetheless I was still in shock at how much teenagers affect advertising and vise-versa. As far as some teenagers trying to create and be a part of an unmarketable sub-culture, I believe that now matter what, they will eventually become mainstream and, as the clip put it, sellout. The band Insane Clown Posse or ICP shown was a perfect example of that. Needless to say the next time I see an advertisement, I'll hopefully think twice before I make an opinion on the product being sold.

Personal Soundtrack

These images are part of a movie for my Time Arts class. The assignment was to combine songs and sounds that relate to you, with photos of either yourself, or that relate to you in some way.

my weekend..

This past weekend I took off to see two of my high school friends in Geneva, New York. I visited them at Hobart and William Smith College which is far different when compared to Syracuse. In a way, I was in a bit of a shock. The atmosphere took me back to my highschool days not just because I was with two of my closest friends from then, but because of the size of the school. I saw no one there. Of course that is an exaggeration but that is what it felt like. Whenever we walked around campus the most people we'd see at a time would be eight, and they were in completely separate, small groups. They only had one dining hall and even when the varsity soccer team played, I only saw about fifty fans. All that aside, it was siiiick to see my old friends again and can't wait to have them come up and check out Syracuse.
